Welcome to Stupid Girl

We are all born into this world as perfect, delicate human beings. The world is made just for us; or so it seems. There is optimism under every leaf, and adventure lurking around every corner. The world truly is an amazing place, because we are all born stupid. We don't know any better.
Then we grow up. We grow a brain, and force ourselves to lose a heart. Well, sort of. People disappoint us, bank accounts fail us, and the sun doesn't always shine on those days when we need it the most. Life takes a lot of work. Let's just put that in black and white. But throughout the pain and the struggle, we learn. We experience life everyday and somehow the empiricist within us learns from their previous mistakes (hopefully) and somehow learns to adapt these lessons into a life filled with maturity and dignity.
Now, all of this sounds very logical and very probable, but it doesn't really sound applicable to life. Life, real true life, is filled with the type of hilarity that one cannot seem to replicate no matter their ambitious attempts to do so. Lessons come at such a rapid pace, that one cannot seem to keep up with them. Everyday, we try to handle these experiences with grace and ease, just like any socialized young adult in America. But the outcome always proves to be something surprisingly unexpected. No matter who it is we may turn out to be, or where we strive to go we always remain somewhat stupid.
This is humanity. This is the life of every person. This is the life of Stupid Girl. Stupid Girl is a young, promising, 20something learning how to grow up in New York City. She moved to New York City to pursue an artistic career as a serious actress, and somehow wound up in a restaurant. She strives to be centered, focused and determined, but somehow winds up smoking cigarettes and crying in the shower. She loves. She loses. She loses. She wins. Somehow, all of this is much more hilarious from an outside perspective.
So jump forward, or lean back to the time when you were fresh out of the oyster trying to make a life for yourself, renting apartments with ridiculous security deposits and working random jobs to pay for them. We all go through it, but somehow, it's a little bit easier to experience it all together. Comrade is no longer a dirty word. Welcome to Stupid Girl.
